Kolénjér, Baduy Traditional Village Community Calender System
Abstract
As we know that the calendar system is a calculation system that has been found for a long time, whether it is used to calculate a time span or to give a name to the system for a period, such as the Gregorian, Hijri, and Saka calendars. The calendar also has its own function which is determined by the coomunity and has agreed to it. It is the same with Sundanese calendar. This calendar is different from the Gregorian calendar, which we usually use today. The Sundanese calendar used by the people of the Baduy Traditional Village is an eternal calendar whose calculations are usually used by the Baduy Traditional Village community to calculate good-burk days, a wedding event and also the day to grow crops. This is a distinctive feature in the calculation of the Sundanese calendar. Calculations that have been taught for generations have become a separate belief in the midst of indigenous peoples. Unlike the case with people who use the Gregorian calendar, which uses the calendar only calculate a certain time span or commemorate certain days. In this study, it becomes a description of how the Sundanese calendar, which is especially used in the midst of the Baduy Traditional Village community, is used in their daily lives and is a step to live a good life.
