About the Journal

Asian Education Studies (AES) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the advancement of scholarly research and discourse on education within Asian contexts and their global interconnections. Published by ChapJuly Press, AES serves as a critical platform for academics, researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners to disseminate innovative findings, theoretical explorations, and evidence-based practices.

Open Access Policy
AES is a firm advocate of open access to knowledge. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. This ensures that research can be freely accessed, shared, and built upon by anyone, anywhere, maximizing visibility, readership, and impact for our authors.
There are no subscription fees or paywalls for readers. The journal operates under an Article Processing Charge (APC) model to cover the costs of the rigorous publication process, including peer review, editing, and hosting.

Peer Review Process
AES maintains the highest academic standards through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the Editor for suitability and originality. Those that pass are sent to at least two independent, expert reviewers. This process ensures anonymity for both authors and reviewers, guaranteeing impartial and objective evaluations based on scholarly merit.

Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance, authors retain the copyright of their work while granting AES the right to publish it. The published article is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

Archival and Preservation
To guarantee the permanent availability and preservation of digital content, AES participates in the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) archival system. This ensures that all published research remains accessible to the scholarly community for future generations, even in the event of discontinuation.

Publication Format and Access
The journal is published quarterly in both high-quality print and fully accessible online versions. The online version is the version of record and is freely available for reading, downloading, and sharing immediately upon publication via our journal website.
