Cambodia: The Loss of Identity
Abstract
Abstract
Cambodia is a country whose history has been rife with political upheaval and destruction. The loss of life in Cambodia has been astronomical. This paper seeks to portray how this chaotic history, especially during the years of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, has cost the country of Cambodia its cultural and political identities. This will be done through the use of primary and secondary sources that depict the history of Cambodia and how it will lead to a nation that does not know what its cultural history is or how to identify its political stance to the rest of the world. It will also show how other countries have influenced or interfered with this understanding.
