Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a reference management tool utilization framework for Northern Uganda public Universities. A descriptive survey design was used to support the quantitative data for a clear understanding of the findings. A total of 95 scholars from Gulu and Muni University took part in the study. A random sampling technique that was facilitated with the help structured questionnaires was used during the data collection. Regression was done to assess the utilization of reference management tool based on “perceived usefulness” as the main dependent variable of the proposed framework. The predictors that were obtained during the regression include: skills; awareness, trust and funding. We recommend that funding; imparting of skills; creation of awareness and trust be given attention for full utilization of reference management tool in higher Institutions of learning. However, more predictors of “perceived usefulness” may be explored to extend the proposed framework in future.

Keywords: framework, utilization, reference management, tool, conflict, intervention, Institution.
